Lesson 5
Fundraising Speech
hen I was young, books terrified me more than monsters! My palms became my homework notebook—every morning, I’d offer them three painful smacks from the teacher, which counted as “homework acceptance.”
Back then, my classmates happily carried backpacks like briefcases to class, while I just wanted to escape and play. As an adult trying to impress a girl, my best love letter was: “Hi, I’m Vincent. Check here ✓ if you like me!” That’s when I learned: “You regret lacking knowledge when you need it most.”
Fortunately, mentors guided me at critical moments in my life, and through hard work, I achieved modest success in my business. It is a tremendous honor to stand here with you today to support the futures of rural children!
We’re gathered not for dinner but for a charitable mission: to give kids equal access to education. Whether you’re a CEO or a new employee, anyone can help change a child’s direction.
These children aren’t lacking intelligence—they lack opportunities. They could be tomorrow’s scientists, authors, or even keynote speakers like me!
We don’t need to save the world, but we can all contribute a little. Thank you for your participation and generosity.
